The Metabolic Society aims to stimulate metabolic sciences by communicating new and arrange activities to inspire. The Metabolic Society will promote the sharing of knowledge and expertise to progress metabolic research. The Metabolic Society will arrange activities to integrate expertise on metabolic regulation from various fields via focused meetings.

Skeletal muscle is the specialised tissue converting metabolic energy to movement, and research on muscle metabolism provided the foundation for glycolysis and Krebs cycle. Currently, key questions about metabolic regulation in humans are still unanswered. The Metabolic Society will specifically support research on regulation of muscle metabolism to clarify selection and regulation of substrate oxidation. The Metabolic Society will help integrating knowledge from the highly metabolic active muscle tissue to less active cell type types 

The Metabolic Society will campaign support to metabolic addressing societal challenges.
